Traveling to Guanajuato, a city in Mexico, can be an exciting adventure filled with history and culture. The best way to get to Guanajuato city is by flying into Guanajuato International Airport, which offers convenient access to the city.

From there, you can take a taxi or a shuttle to reach your accommodations in the city. Alternatively, you can also take a bus from Mexico City to Guanajuato, which is a popular option for budget travelers.

Guanajuato Leon Airport

You do not need a car in Guanajuato. In fact, I would recommend against having one because parking in Centro is not easy at all.  We had a rental car because our plan was to continue onto San Miguel De Allende afterward. It cost us around $20 a day to have our car parked in one of the garages (the hotels in downtown do not offer parking). If you stay in the historic center, you can easily walk to cover everything we have listed in the one day itineray.
