Our Chiang Mai Apartment

Chiang Mai Apartment – Got the key!

We are absolutely thrilled to have found the perfect place to live for the next few months! It didn’t take long, only two days of looking around. We feel so blessed that the process was so smooth and we had a place to call home after only two days of searching. This apartment has proven to suite us perfectly. It is spacious (considering it is only a studio), in a great location (Nimmanhaemin District), and provides us with all of the amenities we need.

Here it is, home sweet home:

The apartment has a great pool onsite as well as an exercise room. There is coin laundry within a few feet of the complex so doing laundry has been painless. I thought I would have to wash all of our clothes by hand since the apartment only offers laundry services that are a quite pricey ($1 for a t-shirt!). I am happy that all we have to do is walk over to the coin laundry, drop our clothes in (20 THB, or about .75 USD), and pick the up after forty minutes to bring back and hang dry on the balcony. It is a big load off (literally!).

I cant’s rave enough about the neighborhood. We had the option of another unit that was a one-bedroom, however, the walk to get to anything was the reason we did not take it. This location is off the main road so it offers the peacefulness and quiet that anyone would want for where they live, but also allows us to go out and walk to the shops and restaurants quickly and easily. We do have the noise from the planes taking off from Chiang Mai Airport, but living anywhere in the Nimmanhaemin District will have this drawback.

The owners of the unit are very nice people. They have provided us with everything we would need. The unit is brand new and everything in it from the silverware to the furniture is brand new. They even provided us with cleaning supplies such as detergents and soaps. On the first day, our shower heater was not working. After an e-mail to the owner the issue was resolved for us and we were also given a discount on our first month for the inconvenience.

It is a great blessing to be able to feel safe and comfortable.

Hi! We’re Rob and Taiss. We set off to live a life in as many places as possible. To actually live in locations around the world long enough to get to know the locals, the culture, and the food, not just a taste of it.
